Experience the best of Nairobi in a single day, combining wildlife, history, and culture. This tour takes you on an exciting game drive in Nairobi National Park, where you’ll see lions and rhinos, followed by a visit to the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage to meet rescued baby elephants. At the Giraffe Centre, you can feed endangered Rothschild giraffes before exploring the Karen Blixen Museum, the historic home of the famous author of Out of Africa. Finally, immerse yourself in Kenyan culture at Bomas of Kenya, where traditional dances and homesteads bring the country’s diverse heritage to life.
7:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Nairobi National Park Safari
Begin the day with an early morning game drive at Nairobi National Park, one of the only national parks in the world located within a city. This wildlife haven offers a chance to see lions, rhinos, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and other animals in their natural habitat. The park also provides a scenic view of the city skyline, creating a truly unique safari experience.
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Visit to David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage
Arrive at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, where rescued baby elephants and rhinos are nurtured before being released back into the wild. Watch them being bottle-fed and playing in the mud while the keepers share their inspiring rescue stories.
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Giraffe Centre Experience
At the Giraffe Centre, get up close with the friendly Rothschild giraffes. Enjoy feeding them from your hand and learning about their conservation efforts. You can also take memorable photos with these majestic animals.
1:00 PM – 2:00 PM: Lunch & Shopping at Utamaduni Verandah (Lunch cost not included in tour price)
Take a break and enjoy a delicious meal at Utamaduni Verandah, a charming restaurant offering a variety of local and international dishes. After lunch, explore nearby shops where you can find handcrafted souvenirs, African artwork, and unique Kenyan gifts.
2:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Karen Blixen Museum & Kazuri Beads Tour
Step back in time at the Karen Blixen Museum, the former home of the Danish author famous for her book Out of Africa. A guided tour will give you insight into her life and contributions to Kenya’s colonial history. On your way, visit Kazuri Beads, a women’s cooperative that produces beautiful handmade jewelry and ceramics.
3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Bomas of Kenya – Cultural Experience
Conclude the day with a visit to Bomas of Kenya, a cultural center showcasing Kenya’s diverse ethnic communities. Walk through traditional homesteads representing different tribes and enjoy a spectacular live performance of traditional dances, music, and acrobatics. This is a fantastic opportunity to experience Kenya’s rich heritage and even join in the celebrations.
4:30 PM: Drop-Off
At the end of the tour, guests can choose to be dropped off at the airport for their onward flight or at their hotel for a well-deserved rest.
